letter from the president
Welcome! My name is Gabrielle Bachman and I am honored to be the President of the chapter where I found my home at UCLA, the Alpha Psi Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. At Alpha Chi, I found a support system that started from the second I walked through the door on Bid Day and will stay with me long after college ends. I hope that by viewing our website you will get to know more about the women who encourage me every day to “Seek the Heights” and help me be the woman I set out to be when I first started college. Alpha Chi has not only given me my best friends, and a ton of memories, but all of my sisters have given me my confidence.
Our chapter is proudly involved in the Bruin Community—from sisters who work in the library and those who work as lifeguards to neuroscience researchers and nutritionists to dancers, athletes, and elementary student mentors, every one of my sisters is exceptional.
When you explore our site, I hope you can imagine the Monday night meeting when we learn a sister has gotten a summer internship in London, sisterhood retreats to the beach, finals study sessions, spirited football games, and social events with other members of our Greek community. At the end of the day, there is nothing better than to know we get to do it all together, and as Alpha Chi Omegas.
Alpha Chi Omega was founded on October 15, 1885 at DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana. There are 142 chapters across the country, and we have over 230,000 collegiate and alumnae members. Our chapter is filled with young, passionate women who are both involved on campus and in the community. Alpha Chi is about forming lifelong friendships and helping our sisters become the best version of themselves.
This past year the Alpha Psi chapter donated over $50,000 to the Alpha Chi Omega National Foundation, in support of domestic violence awareness!
